Maui Wedding Inspiration at the Haiku Mill

A few weeks ago a select number of wedding vendors got together to create a lovely shoot at one of the most romantic locations I've seen - and it's in Maui. I love Maui, not only is it a beautiful island, but it is also where I got engaged! So, Maui will always have a special place in my heart. :) If you are thinking of an island wedding - or maybe this will change your mind - you need to check out the Haiku Mill.

The team for this shoot included Evonne Wong of Events by Evonne in Maui who found the spectacular location. Nancy Liu Chin provided the tropical florals. Peculiar Pair Press did the invite graphic + layout and Anne of Mira Aster did the finishing work on them. The custom hand-drawn map was done by Stephannie Barba of Couture Maps. The stunning photography is by Kevin Chin.

The Haiku Mill, located on Maui's North Shore is a refurbished sugar mill from the old days of Hawaii. It's actually an Hawaiian historical landmark because it was one of the first sugar mills built in 1853. This is one of Maui's most scenic and historic private estates that is available for hosting weddings for up to 100 guests. The stones from the ruins make up part of a lush botanical garden. It is a breathtaking location!

Nancy Liu Chin made the beautiful floral arrangements incorporating the local tropical flowers of Maui. Anne, of Mira Aster, wonderfully interpreted the Aloha spirit in her invitations. Notice the hand stitching along the edges. Anne also hand cut all of the flower patterns on the invitations. Such a pretty tropical look.

Haiku Mill wedding

The Haiku Mill seems to magically transform itself at night when all the lights come on. I can see how beautiful it must be to get married here. The mill's brick flooring, walls of moss and foliage, crystal chandelier, unique fountains and statues make this one of the most charming, dramatic and unique sites I've ever seen. This wedding location is enclosed, yet open to the sky.

Kevin also shared this video he took. It gives a better idea of what went into the shoot and the gorgeous location. Thanks to everyone involved for sharing your talents with us today! I'm ready to take a trip back to the islands. :)
